a grain of sand

... like sand through the hourglass ... these are the days of our lives

I found a book the other day that has inspired me to make a project out of reading it ~ such is my wont.

It's called Time Travel, and it's written by a guy called James Gleick.

I'm fascinated by the notion of time, and I believe it to be an illusion, along with everything else we believe we perceive.

The book fell into my lap as all such books do, like Ego, which rates a mention, The Holographic Universe, and Multi-sensory Human. John Kennedy O'Toole's book A Conderacy of Dunces also falls into this category, along with The Unberable Lightness of Being, though these books are ostensibly fiction. Whatever genre these books are, they come to me in the same way I am learning to allow correspondence from animal spirits to enter my life: I find them at a DFO when MissAnikki and I are shopping for leggings.

First I found a book of odds and ends about the future in general, but then I found this one and it immediately displaced the desire for the first one. You know a good book when you find one.

Meanwhile, clock this trailer, pointing at the truth of grain.
