I use "reckon", which I've been using a lot, and I reckon it's because reckoning is somewhere between intuition and the volition of thinking, somewhere between heart and mind. It would be an oxymoron to say, "I think I don't believe [something something]."

In the same way, trying to love someone with your mind is a headbutt to the heart.
