In January 2017 I underwent a psychological experience I can only describe as a spiritual awakening, and I say "underwent" because it seemed that something happened to me, or through me, rather than me doing anything special.

Describing these events is challenging for me in a way I haven't experienced before, because they seem to defy all accepted notions of reliable experience according to the dominant cultural paradigm of my time.

 

It's good to get down the details though, because somehow by sharing it (or at least documenting it) it feels more realed ... made more real ... in the same way happiness is made real by sharing.

It is challenging because it deals so heavily with tautologies like chasm of chaos and cavernous cave, 

​

because everything is a tautology when we consider that all expressions of the singularity are just different ways of expressing the same thing.

​

But I feel a strong duty to report them, as others have reported them in the past, and to show how they are connected with a macro-cosmic story that informs each of our lives more than we generally know or accept.

​

The experiences made it clear to me that they were just instances of numerous shared experiences through time and across geographical and cultural borders ~ a recurring feature of these experiences has been connection with the spirit of animals.
